LAXMIPUR: Two minors drowned in a pond at North Charbangshi village under Raipur upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Bablu, 8, son of Jakir Hossain and Maria Akter, 5, daughter of Habibur Rahman and residents of the area.

Family sources said the minors fell into the pond adjacent to their house while taking bath in the pond at noon.

Finding them nowhere, families of the duo started searching and later found them floating on the water.

In-Charge of Hajimara Police Outpost Sub-Inspector Abdul Khalek confirmed the matter to banglanews.
