DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will set-up formalin testing booth in 236 kitchen markets of capital Dhaka by one week to ensure foods without chemical and formalin.  

DMP commissioner Benzir Ahmed made the disclosure at a discussion at Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday.  

He said, “DMP will set-up 236 formalin testing booths in 236 kitchen markets within 7/8 days. Students of Science department of university will assist in the effort. They will serve the facility to people with a little fee.”      

SAARC Cultural Society organized the programme on ‘Food without poison: Rights to mass people.’ 

Earlier on Tuesday, the High Court directed the authorities concerned to set-up formalin testing booth in every kitchen market across the country.
