NARAYANGANJ: At least 10 people were injured when a passenger trawler capsized in the Shitalakkhya River at Central Kheyaghat area after a bulkhead knocked it on Friday noon.

Police sources said that the trawler carrying 20-25 passengers sank in the river around 2:30pm after a sand-laden bulkhead hit it, leaving 10 people injured.

There was no one reported missing yet, sources added.

However, nearby boatmen and BIWTA divers with their boats rushed in and rescued the passengers.

Officer-in-Charge of Narayanganj Sadar Model Thana Monjur Kader confirmed the matter to banglanews.
