RAJSHAHI: Two brothers drowned at Mokhterpur village under Charghat upazila of the district on Monday noon.

The deceased were identified as Marzan Ali, 8 and his younger brother Mizanur Rahman Mizan, 6, sons of one Tara Mia, a Habildar of Bangladesh Police Academy at Sardah.

Inspector (Investigation) of Charghat Thana Sazzad Hossain told banglanews that younger brother Mizan drowned while taking bath in a pond near their rented house.

Elder brother Marzan jumped to save him and drowned with him, he added.

Local people recovered them and rushed to Charghat Upazila Health Complex where on duty doctor declared them dead.
