SHARIATPUR: Police recovered floating bodies of three people, including two children, from Naria upazila of Shariatpur and Muladi upazila of Barisal on Thursday.
The bodies are believed to have been linked to Monday’s launch capsize in Padma.
Naria police recovered the body of a baby girl from Padma River at Wapda Sureshwar Point in Charatra area of the upazila at 1:00am.
“Police recovered bodies of a boy, aged about 2, and a youth, aged about 20, from Muladi area,” said Gosairhat Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdul Mannan.
Shariatpur Superintendent of Police Saifullah Al Mamun told banglanews: “Police are patrolling on speedboats and trawlers at different points of Jazira and Naria upazilas since early Thursday as the bodies of missing people may be found floating in the area.”
The bodies were sent to the control room at Pachar of Madaripur.
On Monday, passenger vessel Pinak-6 with 350 people on board capsized near Mawa Ghat in Louhajanj upazila of Munshiganj district.
