DHAKA: A Dhaka court Wednesday fixed September 18 for submitting the report on investigation into journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi killing case.

Magistrate of CMM court Tarrique Mainul Islam fixed the new date as investigation officer of the case Wares Ali have failed to submit probe report on Wednesday.

The court deferred the report submission date for 26th time. On the other hand, no fruitful results were seen in the investigation after the killing of journalist couple from 30th months.

On March 16, the CMM court had asked to the investigation committee to submit details of headway of investigation of the case.  

Following the court order, investigation officer Wares Ali had submitted a partial report before the court on March 20.

Sagar Sarowar, news editor of private TV station Maasranga, and his wife Meherun Runi, a senior reporter of another TV channel ATN Bangla, are brutally killed at their rented apartment in the capital's West Razabazar on February 11 in 2012.  

Runi's brother, Nowsher Alam Roman filed the case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on February 12, 2012.
