Journo Panna Bala on 5-day remand

FARIDPUR: A district court on Wednesday placed Panna Bala, District Correspondent of the bangla daily Prothom Alo, on a 5-day remand.

Justice Hamidur Rahman of the court granted the remand for his alleged connection with the murder of his wife Joyonti Sarkar.

Police produced Panna Bala before the court with a 7-day remand plea and the court granted 5-day remand.

Investigation Officer of the case Kotwali Thana Sub-Inspector Masud Rana said that two others accused were remained fugitive in the case.

Earlier on August 1, Kotwali Thana Police recovered the hanging body of Panna Bala’s wife Joyonti Sarkar, 37.

Later, victim’s younger brother filed a case with Kotwali Thana.
