4 killed in Keraniganj road crash

DHAKA: Four people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident in Abdullahpur Kadampur area at Keraniganj, outskirts of the capital, on Saturday afternoon.

Of the deceased, one was identified as microbus driver Kaisar Ahmed, 40, son of Hasan Ali, hailed from Munshiganj district. 

Sources said a passenger bus collided head-on with a microbus in the area around 4:30pm, leaving three people dead on the spot and eight others injured critically.

The microbus driver Kaisat succumbed to his injury on way to hospital, said a spot account of the incident.

The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and local clinics.

The movement of the vehicles halted for a while due to the accident.

On information, the law enforcers rushed in and brought the situation under control.

Officer-in-Charge of South Keraniganj Thana Jamal Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
