LALMONIRHAT: A Lalmonirhat court on Wednesday awarded life-time imprisonment to three people in a murder case in the district.

The convicts were also fined Tk 25,000.

The convicts are Ashraful Islam Tufan, 35, son of Abdus Sattar, Faridul Islam, 25, son of Abdur Rahim, and Jubayed Hossain Sujon, 30, son of Abul Hossain of Burimari area of Patgram upazila.

Acting Judge Siddiqul Arefin Chowdhury of Lalmonirhat District and Session passed the order.

Sub-inspector (SI) Tanfirul Islam of Lalmonirhat court police told banglanews that Tufan, Faridul and Sujon killed their friend CNF trader Saidul Islam, son of Akbar Ali, over a trifling matter on September 1 in 2006.

After a long time of hearing, the court placed the order.
