DHAKA: Music director Shawkat Ali Emon was arrested and sent to jail with the allegation of releasing nude pictures and videos of girls.

He was arrested from his Bailey road residence in city early Thursday.

He was produced before the chief metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday noon.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Aminul Haque passed the order upon a petition filed by Ramna Thana police.

Police detained him as per allegation by his ‘so-called wife’ Zinat Kabir.

Ramna thana duty officer Manzurul told banglanews that Zinat Kabir filed a case with Ramna Thana on August 18.

Then, police arrested Emon around 1:00am on Thursday as per allegation filed under section 57 of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) act.

Police, however, seized many nude pictures, videos and a laptop from Emon’s possession.
