SAVAR (DHAKA): Miscreants beat and copped an office assistant of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) to death at Kalma Adarsha village of the upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Sayed Akber Ali, 38, hailed from the area.

Deceased’s wife Latifa Begum said, when she returned the house saw it was vandalized and valuables were looted.

After a fanatic search, she spotted the body in a ditch near their house.

Later, police recovered the body in the afternoon and took it to the Thana.

Dipak Chandra Shaha, police inspector (investigation) of Savar Model Police Station, said to banglanews that the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The law enforcers initially suspected that the miscreants beat and chopped him to dead as he deterred them from looting.
