1 held with Indian currency at Shajalal

DHAKA: Customs intelligence officials detained a man with fake Indian currency of Rs1.65-crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Sunday.

The detainee was identified as Khalil Baypari, 35, hailed from Shariatpur district.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Mainul Khan, director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department, said, “The man landed at the airport at 9:30am by the flight of Emirates-EK 582 from Dubai, which had transit at Karachi of Pakistan.”

On secret information, the officials searched him, seized the currencies and nabbed him.
