Faridpur road crash kills 3

FARIDPUR: Three people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident on Khandaker Nurul Hossain Nuru Mia bypass road in the Sadar town on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Thandu Sheikh, 32, hailed from Jessore, Shawkat Bepari, 35, from Munshiganj and Litu Matobbar, 40, from the area.

Quoting local sources, Officer-in-Charge of Faridpur Kotwali Thana Syed Mohsinul Haque told banglanews that a Dhaka-bound rashly driven cattle-laden truck knocked an electric pole and plunged into a roadside ditch in Pearpur Bazar area of the town, leaving the driver and helper of the truck and six cattle dead on the spot.

Local rescuer Litu Matobbar also died while trying to rescue them and seven others injured, he added.

Of the injured, five were rushed to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital, OC added.

OC Syed Mohsinul also said that they handed over the body of Litu Matobbar to his family and kept the other two bodies at the morgue.
