KISHOREGANJ: Miscreants slaughtered an auto-rickshaw driver and stole his vehicle in Uttar Mumurdia under Katiadi upazila of the district sometimes between Saturday and Sunday.

The deceased was identified as the Roni Mian, 22, son of Mahtab Uddin of Betir village of the upazila.

Katiadi Thana police said, locals found the dead body beside a fishery in Uttar Mumurdia and then informed the police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to the district Sadar hospital for autopsy.

Roni’s family members said, he did not returned home since leaving the house on Saturday morning. His body was found on Sunday morning, but his vehicle went missing.

Katiadi Thana Officer-In-Charge M Hedayetul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
