DHAKA: Railways Minister Mujibul Haque informed that 270 new coaches has been introducing in the Bangladesh Railway to lessen peoples sufferings.
He made the disclosure while visiting Kamalapur Railway Station on Monday.
The minister said India will finance to add 120 coaches and Asian Development Bank (ADB) for 150 coaches. Among those, 50 coaches will be brought from India within next six months.
Mujibul also said that the railway has been working to reduce the sufferings of home-bound people for upcoming eid. Some 2.50 lakh tickets have been selling everyday.
Pointing at the low speed to sell tickets, he said this slothfulness occurred for the lack of skilled employees.
Acting secretary to the Ministry of Railway Munsur Ali Sikder and Director General Tafazzal Hossain of Bangladesh Railway, among others, were present during the time.
