DHAKA: Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel detained a man with 23,000 Saudi Riyals from Kamalapur Railway Station of the city on Wednesday morning.

The detainee is Nipu, 25, arrived at the station by an inter-city train named Turna Nishith form Chittagong in the morning.

On secret information, police searched the man upon his arrival there and recovered the Riyals, equal to Tk 5.17 lakhs, hidden in his underwear.

GRP Kamalapur Railway Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Abdul Mojid confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The man went under interrogation at the thana and police was processing to file a lawsuit, said the OC.
