TANGAIL: A 60-killometer-long traffic gridlock on Dhaka-Tangail highway pushed hundreds of passengers into serious sufferings early Friday.
Victim passengers said the tailback has begun from Thursday night which turned severe form around 2:30am and remained unchanged until till filing the report.
Sources said that the 60 kilometer long traffic jam started from Gorai of Mirzapur to Solla of Kalihati Upazila.
A bus driver named Osman Goni said that the traffic became ruthless due to overtaking tendency in various spots and most of the vehicles were Dhaka-bound cattle laden trucks.
Confirming the matter Tangail Thana Sub-Inspector Mostak Ahmed told banglanews additional vehicle pressure in the route created the traffic jam.
