DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday said Sheikh Hasina is a curse for the country as well as for her own party Awami League.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the observation while talking to journalists at BNP central office in city’s Nayapaltan area.
He said, “The incumbent government has to resign because people of the country are suffering a lot under their rule.”
The ruling Awami League has created a miserable situation by bloodshed, he added.
Terming the incumbent prime minister a curse for the country as well as for her own party Awami League, the senior BNP leader further said that being vindictive Sheikh Hasina is destroying the democratic institutions of the country.
A fair election under caretaker government is a must to restore peace and democracy in the country, the newsmen were told.
He put importance on compelling the government to oust through mass upsurge.
BNP education affairs secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon, Dhaka city committee member secretary Habibun Nabi Khan Sohel and BNP central joint-member secretary Asadul Kabir Shahin were among others present at the press meet.
