Bangladeshi hajjis in extreme sufferings

JEDDAH: Delay in hajj-return flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines is causing extreme sufferings to the Bangladeshi hajjis on their way to home from Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah.

Even the flight has been departing for the destiny some more hours later in addition to the first-time delay hours.

Nahin Ahmed Mantaji, a Bangladeshi hajji from Gazipur district, said that he reached at the King Abdulaziz International Airport at 2:00am local time on October 11 as he was scheduled to leave for Dhaka by the BG-8020 flight at 9:00pm.

Later, they were informed that the flight would not depart before 11:00pm.

Mantaji said they had been brought to the airport 8 to 10 hours earlier and all the time they had to await flights.

If Saudi Arabian Airlines can make their flight departure on time why not the Biman, questioned the man.

Another hajji Shamsul Haque told banglanews that they became victims of sufferings for hours after hours only for mismanagement.

When Banglanews Correspondent tried to reach the Biman station manager Solaiman at Jeddah airport over phone, the officer did not receive the call.

Later, the Correspondent made another effort to reach the Biman’s country manager at Jeddah Abu Taher but the man did not also receive it.
