KUSHTIA: Two persons, including a minor, drowned at Santoshpur village under Khoksha upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Tamanna, 7, daughter of Daud and Beauty, 20, wife of Mahir of the area.

Locals said that Tamanna fell into a canal while she was playing in the area and drowned around 3:30pm.

After noticing the incident Beauty also jumped into the water to rescue her and went missing.

On information, locals recovered them from the marshland and rushed the duo to Khoksha Upazila Health Complex where on duty doctors declared them dead.
