13 Malaysia-bound held in Cox’s Bazar

COX’S BAZAR: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel detained 13 Malaysia-bound fortune seekers with two brokers from near to the Rezu river of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The two detained brokers are Lalu Driver, 42, Shamsu Mia, 22, of Chakatia upazila of the district.

Major Imran Ullah, acting director of BGB-17 Battalion in Cox’s Bazar, told banglanews these people were detained after searching a Sonarpara-bound microbus in a check post near the river.

A case was filed with Ukhia Thana and the detainees were handed over to the police.
