DHAKA: The customs authorities detained a Pakistani national along with one crore Indian currency from city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday.

The Pakistani man, Abdul Nurul Alam, was detained from Green Channel area of the airport around 6:30pm.

Assistant Commissioner (preventive) Ruhul Amin of the Customs confirmed the matter.

Sources said they suspected Nurul and searched him while he was crossing the area and recovered the huge amount of currency from his luggage.

The authorities are interrogating the detainee in this connection during filing the the report.
