DHAKA: The Namaz-e-Janaza of war criminal Ghulam Azam will be held after Johar prayer on Saturday in city’s Baitul Mukarram Mosque.
Ghulam Azam’s son Brigadier General (retd) Abdullahil Aman Azmi informed the matter to media on Friday evening.
He briefed the media after a meeting with family members. Azmi also said that he will conduct the Janaza.
Earlier on Thursday, the 92-year-old former Jamaat-e-Islami chief, who was jailed for 90-year for war crimes, breathed his last at 10:10pm on Thursday in city’s BSMMU in police custody.
Later on Friday morning, Dhaka central jail authorities handed over the war crimes convict’s body to his son Azmi.
After receiving the body Azmi said that Ghulam Azam will be buried at Moghbazar family graveyard.
