GAZIPUR: The train services of Dhaka-Chittagong route has been resumed after more than two hours of halt as the Indian Maitree Express train went crippled at Kaliakoir upazila of the district around 7:45pm Tuesday.
Assistant Station Master of Joydebpur Station Nasir Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
After the resume, the Dhaka-bound Lalmoni Express left Mirzapur Station for Joydebpur around 10:00pm.
Earlier, the Maitree Express train containing around 700 passengers stuck at Mouchak rail station that created severe sufferings of the passengers.
After the incident, Dhaka-bound Lalmoni Express halted at Mirzapur Station, Khulna-bound Chitra Express at Joydebpur Station and Ishwardi-bound Sirajganj Express halted at Mouchak Station.
The rail communication of Dhaka with Rajshahi, Khulna, Dinajpur also halted due to the accident.
