DHAKA: The customs authorities detained a cabin crew along with gold bars weighting 2.50kg from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in city on Wednesday.

The detainee was identified as Mazharul Afsar Rasel, 38.

Customs assistant commissioner Juela Khanam confirmed the matter.

She said they suspected Rasel, returning from Dubai, when he was crossing the green channel area of the airport around 1:30pm. 

After searching him the authorities seized the gold bars from his possession.

Juela Khanam said that they are interrogating Rasel.
