DHAKA: A construction contractor died after falling from the rooftop of an under-construction house at Kajla in the city on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Ataur Rahman Khokon, 35, resident of Jatrabari.

Fellow workers, who witnessed the accident, told banglanews that Ataur had lost his balance and fell from the rooftop of a one-storey tin-shed house while he was replacing tins. He was injured critically in this incident.

However, Khokon was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead around 3:15pm.

His body was kept at the hospital morgue.
