SYLHET: Police Friday detained 17 Chhatra league activists of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) with one loaded pistol and 19 sharp weapons following clash of Thursday that killed one and injured over 20.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Jalalabad Thana Aktar Hossain said the BCL men were held from different houses adjacent to the university.

On Friday, November 20, one BCL man was killed and over 20 among proctor were injured in a turf war between two factions of BCL on the campus.

The varsity was closed sine die following the clash and students were asked to vacate the hall. A probe body has been formed to look into the clash.
