DINAJPUR: Protesters have withdrawn blockade from Dhaka-Phulbari highway in Dinajpur.

The blockade, which was imposed by the supporters of ‘National Committee to Protect Oil Gas Mineral Resources Power and Ports’ of Phulbari unit around 11:30am, had been withdrawn at 4:15pm Wednesday.

After getting an assurance from Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Maniruzzaman, the protesters withdrew the blockade.

According to the sources, the UNO told the protestors that Asia Energy chief of operation Gary N. Lye said that the company will not start any implementation of Phulbari Coal Mine Project.

However, the blockade triggered severe sufferings for the passengers.
