TANGAIL: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on Sakhipur-Sagardighi road in Beltoli area in Sakhipur upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam, 32, son of one Asgar Ali, hailed from Sakhipur municipality.

Quoting witnesses, Sub-Inspector of Sakhipur Thana Omar Faruq told banglanews that a Sagardighi-bound passenger bus crushed into the motorbike of Saiful Islam at the area, leaving him dead on the spot.

Local people seized the bus but the driver managed to flee the scene, he added.

The body was sent to Tangail Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
