DHAKA: Ferry services between Daulatdia-Paturia and Mawa-Kawrakandi water ways resumed Wednesday morning after a 12- hour disruption due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Sources told banglanews that ferries, which were forced to anchor in the mid river, started for their respective destinations at 10:00am after the disappearance of fog.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia office manger Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Ferry services became normal after visibility returns, Shafiqul added, reports Banglanews Rajbari Correspondent reports: plying of all water vessels on the day.
On the other hand, ferry services at Mawa-Kawrakandi water way have also resumed at 10:00am.
Banglanews Munshiganj Correspondent reports: The 10 ferries, which were forced to anchor at the mid Padma on Tuesday night due to the poor visibility, have already started for their destinations.
Earlier, Mawa office of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) suspended the ferry services around 10:00pm due to thick fog.
