DHAKA: Aggrieved locals blocked Dhaka-Tangail highway since Friday morning demanding construction of speed breaker following a road accident that left a youth dead.
Protesters put the barricade on the highway at 10:30am by setting fire on tyres and took position on the road, halting traffic movement for around an hour.
Over hundred vehicles lined up on each side of the highway for the disruption of vehicle movement due to road block.

On information, Sadar thana Officer in-charge Golam Mostafa rushed to spot and talked to the protesters.
Later, they removed the barricade after the law enforcers assured them of constructing speed breaker on the spot.
The vehicle movement became normal at 11:15am, said a spot account.
A motorcyclist was run over by a truck at Khudiram point on Thursday noon. Following the accident, locals showed the protest on Friday morning demanding construction of speed breaker.
