JAMALPUR: Law enforcers raided a shop in the district town on Thursday night on information of selling petroleum gas of Jamuna Group using the cylinders of Bashundhara LP Gas.

During the raid, police seized 50 cylinders; however the dealer managed to flee the scene sensing presence of police.

Sources said M/S Hafiz Traders, a local distributor of Jamuna LP Gas, was selling Jamuna LP Gas using cylinders of Bashundhara LP Gas as it is more popular to the consumers.  

Jamalpur distributor Abu Sayeed of Bashundhara LP gas told banglanews that the proprietor of Hafiz Traders was doing this illegal job for long ago.

Sadar Thana Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ali said acting on tip-off police conducted the drive and seized 50 gas cylinders but failed to arrest the culprit as he ran away sensing police presence.
