DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over ‘Bangabandhu Krishi Padak-1419’ to 30 persons and institutions at a function held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city on Saturday.

They were given the awards of five-gold, eight-silver and 17-bronze medals for their respective contribution to the field of agriculture in the country for this year.

The PM has also asked farmers to reduce the use of insecticides in agricultural land and increase the alternative methods.

She also asked them to be conscious in using water during irrigation.

Agriculture minister Matia Chowdhury, fisheries and livestock minister Mohammed Sayedul Haque, among others, were present in the function.
