NATORE: A mass robbery was committed on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in Sutirpar area of the district early Wednesday.

Locals told banglanews that a robber gang blocked the highway putting three logs. As a result, around 30 night coaches and goods-laden trucks fell trapped on the both side of the highway.

Robbers stormed into about 10 vehicles and stanched cash money, mobile phones, gold chains from the passengers at gun point. They also vandalized several vehicles and fled the scene.

On information, police from Pakshi and Jhalmalia highway police outposts rushed in and cleared the road removing the tree logs.

Bonpara police outpost In-Charge Fuad Lohani confirmed the matter to banglanews.
