NARSINGDI: At least three people were killed and five others injured in separate road crashes in Shibpur upazila of the district on Friday morning.

Of the deceased, two were identified as Khokon Mia, driver of auto-rickshaw, and its passenger Meherun Begum, 30.

Shibpur thana officer-in-charge (investigation) Khandaker Imam Hossain told banglanews that a Dhaka-bound bus of Kazol Paribahan knocked a auto-rickshaw from behind in front of BISIC industrial area around 11:00am, leaving two dead and injured five others.

Later, Itakhola highway police seized the bus.

On the other hand, an unidentified passer-by was run over by a human hauler in Choitonya area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at the same time.
