DHAKA: Customs Intelligence officials on Friday held one person with 812-gram gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in city.

Sources told banglanews that the detainee, Abu Taher, 50, arrived from Saudi Arabia by a Saudia Airlines flight in the noon.

He was detained by the authorities while crossing the green channel, sources added.

Confirming the matter, Customs Intelligence Department Joint Commissioner Kazi Muhammad Ziauddin said the seized gold worth about Tk 40 lakh.
