Dhaka: Police arrested two persons with a firearm in the city’s Dakkhin Dania area under Kadamtali thana early Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team led by Demra zone AC Gias Uddin raided a house around 2:45am and picked up Zonaed Hassan Shanto with a foreign-made pistol in his possession, Kadamtali thana operation officer said.

Another person named Aminul Islam Dalim was also held from the house following Shanto’s confessional statement.

A case was registered under the Arms Act.
