DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in the city ahead of BNP-led 20-party alliance called hartal for Monday.

BGB Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mohsin Reza confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday.

BGB sources said the BGB personnel have been deployed at 6:00pm to avert any subversive situation in the important areas including the national parliament, secretariat, diplomatic zone, Shabagh, Uttara, Dhanmondi, Farmgate, and Karwan Bazar of the city.

However, BNP-led alliance called dawn to dusk hartal for Monday protesting the restrictions on Gazipur rally where BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was scheduled to address.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the hartal on Saturday.
