SHERPUR, BOGRA: Joint forces recovered with 10 petrol bombs, books, compact Disk (CD) and secret documents on jihad from a mess in Sherpur upazila in the district on Sunday.
Two activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, were also detained from the area.
The detainees are Milon Sheikh, 25, of Zell Hossain and Rabiul Karim, 22, son of Rafiqul Islam of Khadakertola village of the upazila.
Earlier in the day, Shibir activists vandalized several vehicles and blasted 8/10 cocktails in the area on Dhaka-Bogra highway.
However, on information, police rushed to the spot and opened fire 20 rounds of bullet to bring the situation under control, leaving a Shibir activist injured.
The injured is Rana Ahmed, 20, son of Khalil Pramanik of Chawkpota village.
Later, joint forces conducted the drive in Hamchhayapur area from 11:00am to 3:00pm to detain the anarchists and recovered 10 petrol bombs from a Chhatra Shibir-dominated hostel.
Sherpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Ali Ahmed Hashmi confirmed the matter to banglanews.
