Abdul Mannan new Bangladesh envoy to Mauritius

DHAKA: The government has decided to appoint Md. Abdul Mannan Howlader, secretary to the government and currently on deputation to MOFA, as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Mauritius.

External Publicity Wing of Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Tuesday in this regard.

Howlader is a member of the BCS (Administration) cadre, 1981 batch.

In his distinguished career, Howlader  served as the Member, Planning Commission; Secretary, Ministry of Shipping; Chairman, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA); DG, Compulsory & Mass Education; Member, Bangladesh Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (BCSIR); Deputy Commissioner of Laxmipur District and also as Deputy Secretary in Economic Relations Division and the Ministry of Water Resources.

He visited the USA, the UK, Japan, India, South Korea, Russia, China, Sweden, Switzerland, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand for official purposes.
 
Howlader completed BSS (Hons) & MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka, obtained LLB from the same University and attended Graduation on Security Studies from the Asia Pacific Security Studies Centre, Hawaii.
