CHITTAGONG: Anti smuggling team of Bangladesh Navy rescued 15 Malaysian-bound people and detained three manpower traffickers from the outer anchorage of the Chittagong port early Thursday.
Navy sources said that on suspicion, the team intercepted a fishing trawler and another engine-run boat in outer anchorage area near to the Sangu River around 1:05am.
After searching the boats, navy personnel rescued 15 Malaysian-bound people and nabbed three traffickers there.
Quoting the victims, a Navy officer told banglanews that they left Potegna of the port city for Malaysia sailing on the boat and trawler around 12:00am.
