DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam Saturday said police has proposed to the government to ban the militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team.

The proposal was sent to the Ministry of the Interior, the DMP join commissioner told banglanews.

The militant organization has claimed responsibility for the killings of Muktamona blog’s science writer Dr Abhijit Roy, bloggers Washikur Rahman Babu, Ananta Bijoy Das.

According to police, Ansarullah Bangla Team is a close concern of the international armed group Al-Qaeda. They follow all the ideologies of Al-Qaeda.

Ansarullah Bangla Team is working as a spokesperson of all the militant organizations in the country. Various militant militants using the name of Ansarullah Bangla Team are taking military training. They are trained in mountainous and remote areas, he added.
