DHAKA: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Sohel Rana, owner of the collapsed Rana Plaza, for not submitting wealth report within the given time.

ACC deputy director M Mahbubul Alam filed the case (non-submission) with Ramna Model Thana of the city on Wednesday.

ACC deputy director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier, the law section of ACC recommended filing the non-submission case against Rana. However, the commission gave approve to file case on May 18.

Sources said the anti graft commission noticed Rana through jail superintendent to submit their wealth report.

However, he appealed through his wife for more time but the commission opined that it was not granted.
