DHAK: A three-day Bangladesh International Tourism Fair-2015 has been kicked off at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in city Thursday, with a target to earn 15 million USD from the event.
Organized by Bangladesh Foundation for Tourism Development (BFTD), Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon inaugurated the event around 10:00am.
A total of 135 stalls have been set up at the event. Different companies from some 15 countries including Malaysia, Cambodia and SAARC member states have participated in the fair.
Tour operators, travel agents, airlines, hospitals, flying clubs, air express companies, cruise operators, hotels, motels, resorts, spa, guest houses and service apartments, national and regional tourist organizations, clinics, handicrafts, souvenir, transport and car rental companies, shops of travel accessories, tourism publications and filmmakers, among others, have participated in the event.
BFTD has been organizing this international event for sixth time. If all goes well organizers are expecting to earn around 15 million dollars from the event.
The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm daily.
