CHITTAGONG: At least three people were killed and four others injured in a road accident at Double Mooring Thana in port city Chittagong Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Naim, 20, son of one Aziz Bepari, hailed from Ramgati upazila of Noakhali, M Joinal, son of one Sundar Ali, hailed from Muradnagar upazila in Comilla and Mohammad Mizan, hailed from Kamalnagar area of Lakshmipur.

Quoting witnesses, police sources said a bus ran over passers-by and knocked a tempo and two rickshaws as the driver lost control over the steering at Dewanhat area of Double Mooring Thana area around 9:00am, leaving seven people injured.

The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where three people succumbed to their injuries.

CMCH police outpost sub-inspector (SI) of Pankaj Barua confirmed the matter to banglanews.
