GAZIPUR: Police detained two young boys for allegedly killing their friend over trifling matter in Choto Latifpur area under Kaliakoir upazila early Sunday.
 
The deceased was identified as Masud Rana, 20, son of Nurul Islam Nabi of the area.
 
Shahidul Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kaliakoir Thana, said Masud was gossiping with his friend in his empty house around 1:00am Sunday. At one stage, they started quarrelling and Pavez, 21, and Amit, 19, attacked Masud with a scissor, leaving him critically injured.
 
Hearing the scream of Masud, locals came to the spot. They caught the duo with bloody cloths and later, handed over to the police.
 
The locals also took the injured to the Kaliakoir Sreefaltali Upazila Health Complex where the attending doctors declared him dead.
 
Police shifted the body to the Gazipur Shaheed Tazuddin Medical Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case would also be filed in this connected, the SI added
