DHAKA: Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal commented that he finds no relation between the murder of an Italian national Cesare Tavella in city and the security of Australia cricket team during their visit in Bangladesh.

He made this comment in a reply to a journalist on Tuesday noon at his ministry office in city.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia and Detective Branch (DB) police joint commissioner Monirul Islam were present at that time.

The minister said that they have leant that a US-based website mentioned the involvement of international militant group Islamic State (IS) in killing the Italian citizen.

‘But we did not get any proof of it,’ he added.

‘The law enforcers are trying their level best to identify the killers.’
