DHAKA: Chairman of the Committee on International Relations in Myanmar U Hla Myint Oo assured Bangladesh of taking measures for quick repatriation of Myanmar citizens called Rohingyas from the country.
The Myanmar leader made the assurance while talking to deputy speaker of Jatiya Sangsad M Fazle Rabbi on a sideline meeting of the 133rd assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
According to a press release of Jatiya Sangsad, the deputy speaker held bilateral talks with leaders of several countries while attending the IPU assembly in Geneva of Switzerland on Wednesday (October 21).
During the meeting with the Myanmar leader, M Fazle Rabbi requested him to withdraw its citizens called Rohingya from Bangladesh.
In reply, Hla Myint said necessary measures would be taken soon in this regard after the consultation with his government.
On the other hand, during a meeting with Bahrain speaker, Bangladesh deputy speaker urged him to recruit more workers from Bangladesh for their labor market.
Mentioning Bahrain government sincerely considering about workers recruitment from Bangladesh, the Bahrain speaker said, “Regarding the matter, governments of both countries will take necessary steps”.
Bangladesh deputy speaker also held bilateral talks with Bhutan deputy speaker, UAE first deputy speaker and first vice president of Thailand.
