MEHERPUR: Police, in last 24-hour drives, arrested 28 warranted accused from Sadar, Gangni and Mujibnagar Thanas of Meherpur district.

Sadar thana officer-on-charge (OC) Ahsan Habib, Gangni Thana OC Akram Hossian and Mujibnagar Thana OC Abu Salek conducted the drives in respective areas between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Meherpur additional police super Ahmar Uzzaman told banglanews that court had ordered police to arrested the accused. They remained on the run to avoid arrest.

Preparation is underway to produce the arrestees before court, he added.
