DHAKA: United Nations assistant secretary-general and chair of the United Nations Development Group Asia-Pacific Haoliang Xu arrived in Dhaka on Sunday on a five-day visit.

The flight carrying the UNDP regional director landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 9:00am.

During the visit, Haoliang Xu, is likely to meet speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, finance minister AMA Muhith, state minister for foreign affairs M Shahriar Alam and other senior officials of the government, development agencies, diplomatic missions and the private sector.

The UNDP assistant administrator and director, and also Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific is also scheduled to attend the Bangladesh Development Forum speaking on social protection and other issues.
